What was interesting about Saturday night was the closing. The Nuggets did something remarkable, but did not act like it. This team does not believe it is done, does not have a wandering eye on Cancun. This is the team that began the season with championship goals. One wall has been climbed. The Nuggets are back. “I think the owner, maybe he wanted to change something, change the energy. And probably he did, you know,” Jokic said. “He got the result that, what he was looking for.”

After months of debate about Shai Gilgeous-Alexander versus Nikola Jokic for MVP, will be a lot of fun seeing them go head-to-head over the next couple of weeks. Second round is shaping up to be awfully fun. – 9:55 PM

The lead is down to 17 and Nikola Jokic is out here vs Kobe (Brown) and Jordan (Miller)
This is why you don’t give up 17-0 runs though. Only 2:11 left to play. – 9:50 PM

I would seriously think about not coming back with Jokic unless this gets within 20….new series in 48 hours coming – 9:34 PM

And after Batum helped Leonard get a 3
The bigger issue for the Clippers hasn’t been addressed:
– Jokić bucket
– Braun 3 with nearest Clipper defender in Colorado Springs
– Gordon assisted reverse from Joker
7-0 Denver run
65-50 Denver lead
Clippers timeout, 10:27 3rd quarter – 8:54 PM

Huge momentum plays from the Nuggets here. They’re up 65-50 after a Jokic bucket, a Christian Braun three, and an AG reverse dunk.
Loud “BEAT L-A” chants raining down here. – 8:54 PM

Halftime Rotations for the Nuggets as they lead the Clippers 58-47.
Aaron Gordon: 10-4-3, +14, amazing so far
Christian Braun: 11-5-2, great D on Harden
Russell Westbrook: 10-2-3, huge momentum shifter
Nikola Jokic: 9-6-4-3-1, Nuggets will need some more scoring late. pic.x.com/ITKz7PDB7r – 8:37 PM

The Nuggets start the second quarter on a 10-2 run and take a 31-28 lead, punctuated by an Aaron Gordon flush…..Ty Lue calls timeout…..
Denver started the second quarter 7-0 without Nikola Jokic on the floor….good stuff for them on the margins – 8:13 PM

“If you want to get him in space and let him feel comfortable, then we have to do a better job of [screening] people off.”

Joel Rush: Nikola Jokic postgame on Rick Adelman: “I don’t think he’s new. He’s with us last 5, 6, 7 years. Hew was always we heard him, he was always vocal, always giving us tips that can help us. I think right now he’s more emphasizing those tips, those little details he wants to amplify in our game.” -via Bluesky / May 3, 2025
Joel Rush: Nikola Jokic postgame on how much last year’s Game 7 loss played into tonight: “Me personally zero, because I don’t think about failures, I don’t think about something that happened one year ago. My whole focus, my whole energy is today, to this moment to be present.” -via Bluesky / May 3, 2025
