According to NBA insider Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, the Philadelphia 76ers could trade Paul George during the 2025 draft.

The Sixers have the third pick. They could trade the pick and George to move back in the draft.

“I don’t know what Philadelphia is going to do here,” Mannix said on the Bill Simmons podcast. “Do they just sit on that draft pick and take it? Or do they try to package it? Is Paul George in play? I’ve heard some of that over the last 24 hours, that they could be looking to trade back with Paul George to do something there.”

George, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey only played in 15 games together this season.

The Sixers went 24-58 this season, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2017.

George struggled in his first season with the Sixers after signing a lucrative four-year, $211 million contract with the franchise last summer. The veteran averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists this season in 41 games while shooting 43.0% from the field, 35.8% from beyond the arc and 81.4% from the free-throw line.

George’s best basketball is behind him. He is 35 and has a history of lower-body injuries.

A nine-time All-Star, George has played for the Indiana Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Clippers and Sixers. He has career averages of 20.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists.

A California native, George will make $51,666,090 next season and $54,126,380 in 2026-27. He has a player option worth $56,586,670 for the 2027-28 season.
