The Phoenix Suns are expected to trade Kevin Durant before the 2025 NBA Draft.
Durant, 36, wants to get traded to the San Antonio Spurs, but he’s also open to playing for the Houston Rockets and Miami Heat.
The Suns can trade Durant anywhere since the NBA legend doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract. The Spurs, Rockets and Heat have spoken to Phoenix about a Durant trade, but the Suns have not been impressed with their offers.
With that said, Kevin O’Connor of Yahoo Sports came up with Durant trade ideas involving the Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers and Toronto Raptors:
Magic offer Jonathan Isaac, Anthony Black, Jett Howard, Goga Bitadze, and the 25th pick
Pistons offer Tobias Harris, Simone Fontecchio, and multiple picks (while also waiving all cap holds except for Malik Beasley to create cap space)
Nuggets offer Michael Porter Jr., Peyton Watson, Julian Strawther, Hunter Tyson, and a 2031 first to Phoenix, Zeke Nnaji to a third team
Clippers offer Norman Powell, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Drew Eubanks, the 30th pick, and a 2031 first
76ers offer Paul George and three future firsts
Raptors offer Immanuel Quickley, Jakob Poeltl, and multiple picks
The Magic lost to the Boston Celtics in the first round of this year’s playoffs, the Pistons lost to the New York Knicks in the first round, the Nuggets lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the second round, the Clippers lost to the Nuggets in the first round and the Sixers and Raptors missed the postseason.
A top 75 player of all time, Durant has one year left on his contract. He turns 37 on September 29.
Durant played in 62 games for the Suns this season. He averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.2 blocks while shooting 52.7% from the field, 43.0% from beyond the arc and 83.9% from the free-throw line.
A future Hall of Famer, Durant has played for the Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets and Suns. He has career averages of 27.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.1 blocks in 1,123 NBA games.
Durant won the 2014 MVP Award with OKC and back-to-back titles and Finals MVPs with Golden State in 2017 and 2018.
Durant is also a four-time scoring champion.
